When you are learning about the culture, history, and geography of a country, you cannot do without any insight into the diversity of its culinary world. What do Latvians taste, what are Latvian favourite dishes and the secrets of preparing them – the interesents are invited to find it out during the “Delicious conversations’ afternoon”.

Four afternoons at the end of the year – 21st, 23rd, 28th and 30th December – will be dedicated to participants of the project “Explore Latvia” - to explore the diversity of different nations’ food, traditional dishes and the secrets of preparing them, who have successfully found their place in Latvia. Foreign nationals living in Latvia with their families and representatives of the local community are welcome to the online “Delicious conversations’ afternoons”, where they will be able to learn the favourite dishes in Latvia, such as herring “under a fur coat”, cabbage rolls, Alexander cake and gingerbread. During the meetings, we will talk about the roads through which these dishes have arrived in Latvian cuisine, their regional specialities, traditions, symbols, and ways of use. When discussing taste and culinary habits, we will have an insight into the national food of different nations.

“Delicious conversations’ afternoons” will be available online on the Zoom platform. They are developed in collaboration with the blog’s garsigalatvija.lv authors Sandra Osina (food, stories) and Valdis Osins (photo, video).

We welcome all the participants of the project “Explore Latvia” and representatives of the local community to participate in the “Delicious conversations’ afternoons”. The online events are for free!
